What Is Your Contribution To Humanity?

What Is Your Contribution To Humanity?

Our calling is fulfilled through the offering of our contribution to mankind. This is the grand design—to help others and thereby help ourselves. It’s a beautifully spiritual principle. When we have a contribution that aligns with the strengths of our calling we can find a wonderful return and find all of our needs supplied.

The universe is so wonderfully predictable. In the physical universe, if an apple drops from a tree it will verifiably hit the ground every time. That doesn’t benefit me very much but I can observe it.

The spiritual universe is equally causal. If I give in a way that benefits my fellow man, I receive something in return— 100% of the time. When I contribute in line with my strengths I can do so quite effectively and receive a very generous return.

I believe without a shadow of a doubt that we all have a gift to the world. And I also believe it’s our duty to contribute to the rest of humanity— it’s how the universe works.

This is the law of exchange. We give and the universe gives back.

It’s a symbiotic relationship that benefits everyone involved.

The Answer To “How Can I Help People?”

In his writing and recordings, Earl Nightingale used to talk frequently about a person’s “Contribution.”

A common mantra of his was to:

“Find what you can do best that renders service to others and do it with all your might.”

And he would punctuate this principle with a promise:

“Any person who contributes to prosperity must prosper in turn.”

His argument was that when we give to the benefit of humanity, we receive back. When we give in a very strategic way with all of our commitment and to enough people, we, in turn, can receive in a BIG way. This is how the successful get successful—by giving a contribution.

I have no reason to doubt him. He studied many successful people and taught on the subject of how to be successful for decades.

I think it’s equally easy for most of us to examine the successful people that we know and vouch that this law is observably true.

Of course, sometimes that blessing isn’t always monetary.

Finding Fulfillment

Financial wealth is not the only byproduct of our contribution.

Our contribution can bring us fulfillment. It does so because when we give we are functioning the way we were designed to.

It’s like a race car stuck doing commuter driving. It sputters and stalls and finds frustration in the traffic and slow speeds. But get that race car on the track and let it open up—get it functioning at it’s highest capacity—and it becomes the happiest it can be.

So many people are like that race car. They are trapped on city streets completely missing their true function. They get bogged down with selfish pursuits, or gummed up with their attention in the wrong area, or find themselves misfiring due to ignorance of what to do with their lives. Their souls fill up with the sludge of improper tuning.

But when we give in our very special way we feel useful. We have the ability to rev our engines and perform as we were designed to. We feel maximized.

Eternal Reward

And then there are even more significant rewards to our contribution.

Mother Teresa’s calling probably did not pay so well and I think she was ok with that. She was wealthier beyond most in joy in this life and treasures in the next.

The apostle Paul confirmed this thought thousands of years ago. In his letter to the believers in Colossae he reminded them:

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”

Our calling comes from God. He designed us specifically for it in our personality, strengths, interests, and experiences. Our contribution is first of all an expression of gratitude back to Him. Our contribution performed joyfully results in divine inheritance. This is surely the greatest reward of all.

Take Away

All people can find great reward, monetary or otherwise, doing exactly what God commissioned them to do. It’s universal law.

But how do we find our calling and our contribution?

That’s not an easy answer but the clues are out there. I hint at a couple of influencing factors in My Story.

Your story will be different. But I promise you, you have a divine calling. There is a contribution planned for you that, when you begin to engage it, will fit you like a glove. You will have never-ending passion for it and results will come to you with a relative ease that you have never experienced before. And so will the rewards.

Hello, my name is Aaron Force. I’m a blogger based in Seattle, Washington. I’ve been spiritually-minded for most of my life. Unfortunately, I’ve been carnally-minded for at least as much. I felt a seed of greatness hidden somewhere deep down inside but was blinded from it. That is until I experienced an honest-to-goodness calling and moment of awakening. I would be lying if I told you I had it all figured out. But I’m here to tell my story and maybe, just maybe, help you become aware of an even more amazing universe than the one your rational mind already knows.
